Here Are Travel Bargains You Should Take Advantage of Right Now!
Many people’s travel plans were put on hold because of the COVID-19 crisis. So, it has become a real buyers’ market in the travel industry. Deals abound on everything from cruises, to flights, to hotel rooms. But should you take advantage of them?
In these uncertain times, it can seem very risky to book a trip. No matter how low the discount. Especially if you are not sure you will even be able to go due to the ongoing pandemic. However, if you are careful and do your due diligence, you might score some amazing deals.
Airlines are seeing record low prices. “We’re seeing flight prices that are 30% to 40% lower than historical averages,” says George Zeng. “I suspect flight prices won’t get much cheaper.”
But it’s not only airfares, right now when it comes to travel, practically everything is on sale. Cruises and hotel resort packages are discounted by as much as 80%!
USA Today says that no one knows how long the deals will last. “Airfares may be at their lowest point now, but cruise tickets and hotels could drop further, depending on the rate of recovery.”
So what should you do?
Most travel experts agree that if you see a deal you like, you should go ahead and buy it now. The only thing that is certain among all of this uncertainty is that travel companies will try to raise their prices as soon as they can to make up for all of the losses caused by COVID-19. They won’t keep their 80%-off sales going one minute longer than they have to!
Right now hotels are offering some of the best deals, with deep discounts and free nights on travel dates, now through as far July 31, 2020. The key to being secure in grabbing these book now, travel later deals, is to be very sure of the cancellation policies.
On many deeply discounted hotel bookings you can still get a full refund on your reservation as long as you cancel at least 24 hours in advance of your stay. No matter what type of travel you’re considering in the future, you need to read the refund policy before purchasing anything.
Another tip is to look for deep discounts with well-established properties or travel businesses. Many small airlines and “boutique” travel companies, have already been victims of the coronavirus – shutting their doors to never open again. Stick with the large hotel chains, and “name brands,” so you can be sure that they will still be in business when the pandemic winds down, and it is safe to travel once again.
